Jack Ma was born in a poor family when china's cultural revolution was at its zenith.As a teenager, he used to guide tourists for free just to improve his english, he knew that the only way to get rid of poverty was via education.
So he started applying for different colleges and got rejected by each of them.According to Jack Ma 'I applied for Harvard 10 times, got rejected and I told myself that someday I will go and teach there.Even after applying for 30 different jobs, all he faced was plain rejection in 3 simple words "you're no good".And when he applied for a job at KFC, he was the only one who got turned downed out of the 24 applicants, but that only made him stronger.
In 1995, when internet was blomming, he got shocked when no result appeared from china when he searched 'beer'.And that was when he came up with an idea of an online market place which he termed "alibaba".But even after starting alibaba, he could not make it profitable and it was about to get bankrupt.So, he asked 17 of his friends to invest in his vision because he still believed in his idea and soon alibaba became the largest e-commerce store in the world.
Today, Jack Ma is the richest man in China with an estimated networth of $31.4 billion.Ma made almost double of his money in 2014 when his wealth increased by $18.5 billion between December 2013-December 2014, a whopping 173% increase.
Jack Ma's story teaches us that belief in one's self is a great determination.
