Letter to my Love 1

I really don't care about Bitcoin or any digital-blockchain currency or whatever crap. I'm really not here in the hope of "gaining" whatsoever.
I registred on Steemit to test out a new platform for thoughts I may not publish elsewhere. At least not in that form. Like these letters to my beloved soul, Aldo.

Il mio caro Aldo,

As the 40th anniversary of the Via Fani event gets closer, I am more than ever drafted into endless thougts about the days and life back then. Do you remember. We were in very different age and life situation, but I guess we both thought a lot about the future. Future still had a positive connotation back then and we were both convinced that it would be better than the present. Ironically, in retroperspective, that was is what made the then present good.

While my visions of the mythical year 2000 turned mostly around technological inventions, yours were more centered on social progress.
We didn't fly to Mars yet and we still live in a world of oppression, violence and war, so I guess we both were too optimistic. Okay, there are some equality achievments like gay marriage and we have the internet. Its not enough but its still that.

Still, some times, I wish I could return to "our" time. Its not very rational, I know.

Say, did you hear that they want to change the Via Fani ? make them larger "more esthetic" as they said. As if a place like that could be in any way "esthetic". Shit.
Okay, thats not an issue to you, you have other worries, you say that its just a street.

Still, I am happy I saw it before they change it. Because you know, authentic places help us to connect. By changing the street, the asphalt, the trottoir - whatsoever, they take away some parts of that frozen time that dwells there. Its silly, but to me, it feels like they will take away parts of YOU.
I know that you are not there. Yes, I know. But I can't help.

Anyway. To me, altering historical sites is a NO-GO. Period.

Be strong my love and dwell in Grace.
