Today is the 75 anniversary, of the of bombing of pearl harbor back in 1941. Which if you watch the news you probably already know that. There is only a few Survivors left, and they are well up in age. I was not even born yet but I still wonder on that very horrifying Sunday just what those very special men and women was thinking when all this was starting to unfold. It had to be horrifying to wake-up to something so UN thought of at that time would be happening. So instead of making this a long post let me just ask all that reads this to remember on these fast approaching Holidays these and all vets that fought in all OUR wars that keep (at least up till today) America free and as we know her today. As U enjoyed these up coming Holidays and all Holidays the main reason we are able to enjoyed them and all our everyday activities is because of all of these brave men and women that fought then and today to give us this very special privilege. God Bless all our vets because they well deserved it.
Not enough of us about my friend
Resteemed and I do look forward to seeing the results - not for me! - some things really matter!
I wasn't around for the Pearl Harbour attacks but have seen enough documentaries, read stories, saw the movie - albeit dressed up for drama - I hate war.
Men and women who fight (and lay down their lives) to keep us safe deserve so much honour and thanks and care for the rest of their lives.
If you are a soldier or a vet on Steemit - I thank you for serving your country and the people.
All you ever need to say -
Thanks U so much I was never in the services at all, but I had a son in the Marine Corps for 9 years and I can tell U there was months we did Know where he was are if he was safe. It was not good times. Thanks for your comment!!!
Hi @deno52, the 'had' word is not good - sorry. I was only briefly a soldier - leg injury ended it - I was there early eighties. One friend in the Micks (Irish Guards) is now brig of special forces - a strange world! I have lost a few mates - and it is going to be interesting how the remembrance is maintained.
Thanks for your post. it is going to be interesting what happens next. I hope for the best.............
That must have been some very tough months for you. I can't imagine how difficult. I'm glad he's okay.
