Greek mythology

One of my favorite topics and of great interest is Greek mythology, I think that since I was a girl I tried to study and is curious because after great it is that I could raise my ideas on this particular subject and it is so complex and full of Gods, war, monsters that every time I get new things on the subject I fall in love more, and the question begins like this:

I want to speak to you from the beginning, of the true essence of what is and where it comes from ...

According to what I was reading Greek mythology is a set of legends of the ancient civilization of the Mediterranean, that is, the Greeks were those who imposed such legends but did not practice that religion ... is that they imagine worshiping so many gods do not I think it would be easy.

These Gods took human form and embodied the forces of the universe, and some studies claim that they can reach as much as 30,000 gods in total, although I do not know even a quarter of this large number.

Now they know that the Gods have a home called Olympus, which means "the highest from above." They named it the highest mountain in Greece, which if we translate it into Spanish means "the light"

In Olympus lived the principal Gods presided over by Zeus (father of the gods and men, god of thunder and heaven), said place was difficult to access, according to Greek mythology or else, the Greeks in their legends said That the number of Gods who lived in the Olympus was not precise and sometimes included some gods and excluded others, although never exceeded twelve. Among them we can count Zeus and Hera, Poseidon and Demeter, Hermes and Athena, Ares and Aphrodite, Hephaestus and Hestia, Apollo and Artemis, and finally we have Persephone and Dionysus.

Fathers of the Gods

Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hestia and Hades are children of Cronos and Rea (Titans), It is possible to emphasize that Hades was the God of the underworld, reason why n was mentioned to be in the Olympus.
Hermes was the son of Zeus and Maya (Goddess of gestation)
Athena was daughter of Zeus and Metis (Goddess of the council)
Ares and Hephaestus were the sons of Zeus and Hera
Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and Dione (goddess of vague prescience)
Apollo and Artemis are twins, were children of Zeus and Leto (Goddess of night and daylight)
Persefone daughter of Zeus and Demeter
Dionysius is a half-God, He was the son of Zeus and a mortal woman named Shemale

Note: The word titan is used for masculine and titanid for feminine, and titans in plural for referring to both.

I would like to speak to you more, but I do not want to confuse you for the moment, in the next few days I will do a Post talking about each of the Gods and Titans ... I hope you like it, see you soon.

Sort:

I think Aphrodite was born from the . . . fuzz of the Sky's private member that Cronos cut-off at the request of his mother Gaia.

You are not mistaken, but neither am I wrong ... there are like two or more versions of the birth of aphrodite
