Very interesting. I actually watched a documentary a long time ago about how Manhattan came to be, but I can't remember the name of it. It was really cool though, they talked about how Central Park was developed and how originally Manhattan wasn't as long as it is now, but they built a lot of the lower portion on garbage or something like that. I'd have to go back and watch it again to be sure. If I could find it that is...
