Ilon Mask sent a team of engineers to Thailand. There for several weeks, a team of twelve Thai boys and their coach has been trapped from the flooded caves. The billionaire offered his resources to determine the location of people, pumping water or energy supply. Also, his team will offer their own ways to get people out of the cave.
Mask Companies could help determine the exact location of the guys using SpaceX or Boring Company technologies, pump out water or provide people with powerful batteries from Tesla. It remains to be seen whether Thai officials accepted the offer.
Mask suggested his decision: to stretch a nylon pipe filled with air, through which people can pass. A meter tube in diameter could swell and form a passage, decreasing in more narrow places.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that weather worsens and flooding of caves can go further. Now the rescuers have even less time. They consider every inch of water added from the rain. Despite the titanic efforts of divers (according to unconfirmed reports, one of the divers has already died) and local engineers who pumped 128 million liters of water from the caves, the situation hangs in the balance.
It also became known that the composition of the air in the cave has changed and the children trapped in the trap may suffer from a lack of oxygen.
July 6 at 01:00 local time (21:00 Moscow time on July 5), died 38-year-old Thai Navy officer Samarn Kunan, who delivered oxygen bottles stuck in the cave. He passed out on the way back. Working with him, a friend pulled the scuba diver out of the water, but attempts to reanimate the officer did not lead to success. Presumably, the officer died because of a lack of oxygen.
