RE: HF20, Pay To Play, and RC Pools

in #hf206 years ago

HF20 to me highlighted more than ever how important of having a community that people are engaged with and not just link drop spamming whatever they spewed out. During the downtimes and Steemit still needing to work on commination skills. I found myself repeating a few times “wait till Monday to see how everything works out”.

I’m just thankful they went the x10 route in the end. I was considering delegating out small amounts of SP to the hardest hit in one community I'm in if they agreed to power up for a couple of weeks during the delegation Frankly not enough people are planning a future here on Steemit. I think HF20 was a wakeup call for many of them.

While I did poke some fun and vent quite a bit of anger along with removing most of my witness votes with how bad HF20 was implementation. I do believe in the long run this will be beneficial. It just is disappointing looking in the short term and seeing we might not know the full fallout just yet. People vote a lot more than just with upvotes they do so with down powering and at the exchanges. That takes time to play out and hopeful on cooler minds.

Biggest lose I can see in many in the short term is inspiration to keep going and manpower for communities that have an ever decreasing pool of people trying hold up all the weight to keep things going.
