The 1960s hippies became the authoritarians of the past few decades. The antiwar left proved its true nature when it went silent during Obama's presidency. Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed libertarian right celebrates Trump. Radicalism is still a fringe movement that thrives, but I agree entirely that it is now hard to make a point when the mainstream uses a lot of the same language and other trappings in service to The State.
