Synergy During a Project

I am currently taking the class CMGT/575 CIS Project Management, toward my Masters.

Three men join forces to lift the words Stronger Together

The book provides great examples of synergy through a project. One positive example was interesting.

"The team shares a sense of common purpose, and each member is willing to work toward achieving project objectives."(Larson 375)

I think this is one of the primary keys in completing a given goal. The members must not only work together, but keep the goal in mind. I have worked with some difficult people over the years. This is just a reality. There are times when you have friction with others in differing departments, companies, or even within your own group. Yet, if you minimize the negative contact and keep the end goal in the forefront, it makes it easier.

When you have enemies, or those working against you, they instigate negativity and cause division within the midst. This Hegelian Dialectic tactic is used to breakup groups into subgroups, causing the major goal to fail. This is something to consider in the larger areas of current events.

The book provides an example of this, through a negative experience.

"Instead of operating as one big team we fractionalized into a series of subgroups."(Larson 375)

The question becomes, how do you keep the team working in harmony?

I am thinking communication and reminding the end goal is desired more than personal differences. Personally, the customer is my priority.
