Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
I have come across a number of people quoting this scripture for me but neglecting that part that says those that walk after the spirit.
I have come to understand that being in Christ alone is not enough but living Christ. Many people get born again to secure their future, I mean life after but are not able to pay the price. Jesus paid his for us, we also ought to sacrifice something like worldly pleasures so that we are fit for the inheritance.
There is a part in Christianity that requires us to sacrifice these fleshly desires, the human nature for the glory of God. It could be drinking, clubbing, witchcraft, secular music, indecent dress code, slander, jealousy, envy, name it.
Walking after the spirit requires us to listen and yield to the direction of the Holy spirit. Remember that day you accepted Jesus Christ to become your personal Lord and savior, that is the day you received and were sealed by the Holy Spirit according to Ephesians 1:13,14.
You want to know why your body is not your own?
1Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
That day Jesus died on the cross for you, he redeemed you. That day you accepted him, you gave him all authority to your life. Therefore, that life is no longer yours, its the Lord's.
We are supposed to live according to the Spirit that lives in us so that there is no condemnation in and for us.
We are condemned when we live like those who don't have Christ in them.
Our lifestyles preach who we are. We should therefore represent Christ every where we go and live the Word we study.
