How else should hormonal imbalance be treated?
While my charts say my hormone levels were normal, I didn't have periods for years. My OBGYN wasn't concerned, he said since I'm not trying to get pregnant its fine. Years later my general physician found out about my irregularities and put me on the pill. She said it's definitely not normal to be going through years of my life without having periods without any medications causing it.
I've been having normal periods since I started taking the pill, I lost weight (back to normal levels), less acne too. Compared to my teen years, these periods are the typical 3-5 days, instead of weeks of bleeding.
So overall, from my personal experience I only have positive things about taking an oral contraceptive pill.
