Hey Friends of the planet!

In this video I take you with me into a little forest in Wilhelmsburg, Hamburg (Germany)
to collect some trash there.

It is quite dirty there and the "trash bin situation" is super bad, as you can see in the end of the video.

Another topic of this video (thanks for the idea to my lovely girlfriend) are the dangerous "micro plastics" what you can find in many many cosmetics. It is eventually destroying our planet and your body on micro level.

micro plastics?

VideoCapture_20181217-125814.jpg

.. is a ingredient in soapy cosmetics because it is supposed to have a peeling function.

But these particles are so tiny that your local water treatment service can not remove/filter/destroy all of them. So they will stay in yours/our drinking water! You are drinking the water with tea, coffee or your meals and eventually, you will eat/drink these particles. Because these are synthetic materials, your body is not able to metabolize these parts and probably they will stay in your body FOREVER...

Next to this fact, plastics are poisonous and bad for your body because of several reasons - I will make a further video about this. You can check the barcodes of products before you buy it for example with this app

The Forrest and it's END

Additionally, I am talking about the plan of the local government to destroy the forest I am collecting trash. They want to build houses for founding living room there, even if we have >1000 free houses in Hamburg...
(I took the map within the video from here)

Of course it is important to create living room but we have more options instead of destroying the habitat many many animals... (I took the house picture from here )

Overall I had an success move for @cleanplanet

... and I hope you are motivated to make your own moves from time to time to help our planet.

Great video and such good information - and terrible that they want to destroy the forest! Is it certain, or is there a chance to fight it still?
Thank you for the shout out! It's motivating to me that you do this every week! :)
What program do you use for your video editing?

Hey yeah it is really horrible but we can not stop them because the city decided and it is their grounds :/ there is an initiative making demonstrations and so on... But yeah it depends on the government.

I am using Kinemaster on my smartphone. Editing on the go and wherever I want :P but of course it has some restrictions - but it serves my needs :) I can recommend this for sure.

Thank you for your comment as ever. Hope you have a nice Christmas time :)

Peace!

Thanks for the tip! I will look and see if Kinemaster is available here. :) I hope you have a good holiday too! :)

Great edit. I love the split screens. I know that a lot of the soaps with micro plastics were banned in the US. I seem to remember that about 5 years ago I think. Take care.

Hey thank you for the feedback on my edit! It took pretty long to make this haha but I am learning new ways to cut together different footage and use my resources :)

That is awesome to hear that they banned that stuff. Here in Germany it is not so far regarding micro plastics. They had the topic also some years ago but nothing happened.. 90% of the products are supplemented with these things. Hopefully it will come into the spotlight again soon..

Thank you for watching and your time to comment. I appreciate your words man!

Peace!

It's sad to know that sometimes the affects need to be seen by the people before real action is taken. Seems society is more reactive when we should be proactive. Your efforts on the video were not wasted. Seems if they added more trash cans then less people would be littering. I notice that in a lot of places. Most people are like water and chose the easiest path to meet their goal. Good job on the clean up as well. That was almost like an Easter egg hunt. :)

great initiative! and i heared about micro plastic but i underestimated the harm it does to the environment! thanks mate.

Thanks for watching and your comment brother!
I feel successful after reading your comment :)

You really mean, micro 'PLASTIC' in the ingredients of the product and not the containers??? I didn't know that! Good that I have been changing most of my products to natural based lately. Good to see the like minded peep! Could you tell what app for checking the ingredient? Thanks!!!

Hey thanks for watching and your comment mo!
Yeah there are micro plastic parts in the products next to the bad materials in the packaging. I recently updated the post and there is the following link for the app called codecheck

Awesome that you switched to natural products. You have done a big step for the environment and your health :)

Peace!

Awesome! Will check that one out! :D

Some of the "natural" products had them too, but might have gotten rid of them now. Check toothpaste (yes, really! Scary, right?) and anything that says it's for scrubbing, like face scrub or liquid soaps.

nice to see you have joined @cleanplanet :)

Hey thanks a lot for watching and your comment :)
I will check my discord asap!

they keep the houses empty to artificially prop up house prices. Its artificial market scarcity.

Yeah the bad bad society and its fake markets :( Thanks for your comment!

In Denver, we have a lot of homeless people and nobody can afford housing - and so they keep building, but they only build expensive "luxury" apartments that no one can afford, so it doesn't help the problem at all. It's infuriating.
