The human ego is an incredibly powerful thing and when challenged it can make us do some inexplicable stuff.
Proving you can do something and then quitting right when you get into the habit of doing it, is definitely one of them.
We never understood this reasoning, even though it took Anja her whole life to get a proper perspective on weight loss and health.
She was part of a lot of challenges and even back then, she couldn't explain why she stopped at the end of them.
It's literally like rewarding yourself with a cigarette because you didn't smoke for a month.
Habits are rooted much deeper inside of you than you think and it's very easy to fall back into them.
But you're used to being rewarded when you achieve something and sadly, your rewards are usually your bad habits.
The things you crave or find comfort in.
If you're doing a workout challenge and you just got used to being a bit more active every day, why would you suddenly quit?
You shouldn't settle for one month of feeling proud and healthy.
You should strive to turn it into your lifestyle!
And if you just got rid of your sugar addiction, why are you rewarding yourself with the drug you no longer need?
We think the main problem is that you don't know WHAT to reward yourself with because the things you enjoyed before are now the things you got rid of.
So find your new happy place, favorite hobby, favorite food and embrace the fact that you managed to get rid of incredibly destructive habits.
