I P Freely, Do you?

in #health8 years ago

Ever since I have been understanding my body and how it works I have been paying attention to my water in-take, not only volume, but quality too, and that has naturally lead me to pay attention to my urine.

I find this a bit fascinating and wanted to share it with you. Did you know, bar any extraordinary circumstances in diet and health, your urine is actually an indicator of what is going on in your body. Like a dipstick in a car, but it tells you so much more than one thing. How is it that we can remember to check the oil and water in our cars, but seldom care about our water intake?

I feel somewhat childish asking if you knew your urine was an indicator of what's going on in your body, but there was a time I kinda knew, but just didn't really act on it.

As I began to be conscious of drinking water, I began to wonder how much is too much water? I know that there was conditions, very negative and scary ones, that can occur when you drink too much water, depending on that moments circumstances of course. So I needed to know how much is too much, or of course, too little. There is no 6 -8 glasses of water per day rule. It would be if all of our days were exactly the same, and we all used our bodies in the exactly the same manner, without physical excercise, or without living life really.

The answer of course is in your urine. So I'll tell you what I aim for.

I aim for a light yellow colour. When it goes lighter than that, I ease up on the drinking of water, when it goes darker than that, I drink a little more.

I never really paid much attention to my pee before, but as I have been, I have understood that it is a great indicator too of the effects food and fluid you ingest has on you. If you generally use the rule of thumb of smell and visual inspection, your pee will guide you to be healthy, and on "average" you should be peeing 6-8 times a day. There are also other methods of regulating how often you pee like training your bladder. Be sure you don't delay peeing when you gotta go. You gotta go, you gotta go.

And if you are going 6 times or so a day, it's like performing a regular checkup on your body and understanding more. When you see a darker colour, I ask, "What did I eat/drink or physically do in the last few hours or so?" Simply by asking that question, will give you insight to what's going on, and a guide to taking instant action, or carrying on with what we were doing before the maintenance check of our body.

There is much more information on this topic and I urge you see the links and resources below. Our bodies are the most important thing we possess in life. It's the first thing we receive on arrival and it's the last thing we will ever own in this life. I am just sharing my experiencing about my physical well-being.
