Too much folate is suspected to trigger autism

Folate plays an important role in the growth and development of the fetus. However, the excess folate was also bring adverse effects to the health of the fetus. Research shows that too much folate consumption is mentioned can trigger autism in children.

Research from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health shows that if the mother has a very high folate (4 times the recommended amount) right after delivery, then this will double the risk of her child suffering from autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or autism . Autism is a disorder of brain development that can cause difficulty problems in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behavior. ASD is associated with intellectual disability, difficulty of motor coordination and attention, as well as physical health problems, such as sleep disturbances and indigestion.
