Gum reviews? Sugarfree for dry mouth symptoms

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Any opinions about a good long lasting "sugar free" gum?

  • Trident

I have found as I get older, that my dry mouth symptoms are relieved by chewing gum. I originally started with the classic Wrigley Juicy Fruit. It was ok, but seemed to have quite a variability in quality depending on where I bought it. Corner store versus a grocery store. Somewhere along the line I tried the Trident peppermint, which was much more effective and long lasting, but not sugar free. My dentist enforced that I really should use a sugar free gum, if I was going to chew regularly. So this led me into my current quest.

Excel seems to have a shorter life, and becomes sort of card board like in less than 30 minutes.
Stride and 5 seem similar duration so far. Currently I favor peppermint related flavors, but I am open to others.
What other ones should I try? PS: I am in Canada.
