Good point! Are there really GP's that prescribe anti-biotics for the flu?

What's even worse than taking the wrong medicine for a runny nose, is that our massive intake of antibiotics can and has created resistant superbugs (picture a micrometer tall Alien vs Predator vs Godzilla), that, if left to spread, can kill a lot of people.

Animals in the meat industry are also getting way too much anti-biotics, which can cause the same problem. The FDA in the US came up with new stricter rules for animal antibiotics only this January. I hope many more countries will follow.
