Let’s talk about an exotic dance called Raks Sharki, better known as ‘Belly dance’.

This is, and you will agree with me is one of the sexiest dance ever. The movement or rather the gyration of the hips and belly to the music and also the way the arms move in accordance to the rhythm of the hips can be very erotic. This dance not only looks appealing, it’s also has numerous benefits to the body, mind, emotions, soul and spirit as well.Belly dancing does a lot of good for the body. You will agree with me when l do say it’s a fun way to lose weight because you burn at least 300 calories when doing the dance at least for 30 minutes.

Now that is a lot! Belly dance can also promote better skills in the bedroom. Then you are able to move your hips during a dance session, believe we when l do say this skill does come in handy between the sheets! You cannot remain angry or stressed after engaging in a round of belly dance. Yes, this is a fact! After a session of the dance you feel a lot better and happier than when you began. Belly dance uplifts your spirit. You feel better afterwards.
Plus it also reduces those terrible menstrual cramps. Yeah we ladies know what l am talking about. Cramps are horrible, but they are a part of life we have to deal with. When you engage in belly dance it strengthens the pelvic muscles s by increasing blood circulations to that area which over time when done consistently prevents cramps.
Now as l mentioned earlier because there is more blood circulation to all areas of the body when you belly dance this can increase the oxygen supply to skin cells thereby promoting better skin. Belly dance can give you bright and radiant skin. Did you know that?
As an added tip you can drink lots of water before and after the dance class so as to maximize your skin potentials. Half an hour of belly dance everyday {not near bedtime} also helps to promote better sleep. We all know the importance of sleep to our overall health and body; and this can be enhanced through this dance.
Also because belly dance is mentally stimulating it will create more alertness; and also due to its systematic movements of different muscle groups, it improves motor skills. Belly dance also helps to promote a healthy body image and it increases your interaction with others in your environment, thereby increasing your self-confidence.
It is also a stress reliever and it helps you to be able to manage and coordinate your days because you will be able to focus more when you are less stressed.In the times we live in this is a huge benefit to women because we do go through a lot in our daily lives as trying to be moms, career women and more often than not the bread winners of our homes.
It’s not easy being a woman so l always say to my girlfriends “take one day at a time”.
Another benefit of belly dance is that it aids digestion because it moves the pelvic and the abdominal muscles which in turns massage the internal organs.This automatically improves intestine and colon health. This is an added benefit but please note that it is advisable not to eat at least two hours before a dance session so as not to feel nauseous.
It also relieves back pains because it strengthens the deep core muscles that cushions and supports the spine. When you do belly dance you will move muscles that you didn’t know existed in your body; this is really an added bonus because you will be more in tune with your body.
