Get expert advice on pills and powders

in #health25 days ago

On social media these days we find almost everyone has become a Doctor. Most of them I find are paid promotions from influencers, who are just taking advantage of their positions on social media. Supplements are becoming the next big business after the mainstream pharmaceuticals in the medical field. There is a big market for it in the name of holistic and natural healing. But one must understand that even taking supplements without right guidance can backfire. It can be as simple as taking a Vitamin D supplements, because if it goes overdose it can create another health issues.

These days in market you get pills for weight loss, all sorts of powders for remedies. Protein shakes I feel are the biggest scam. The truth is that supplements are a good way of treating yourself from underlying conditions and at the same time they can get hazardous if not consumed in the correct manner. My Son practices functional medicine and this is his job. Before he started his practice, I also did the same thing, I would believe all these social media influencers and get pills and powders on my own without any guidance, but then he explained to me that how it can backfire me over a long period of time.

It's not that if you start taking a supplement due to some deficiency, then you have to take it for life. Then it becomes like taking a pill even after you are cured from your illness. What my sone does for me is, every 6 months he gets my blood work done, reviews it and then based on the findings will advise me what supplements I need to take. There are some supplements whose consumption will happen well only if they are mixed with some other one, else taking it just by itself may not make any difference. Overdosing or underdosing both are not good, it can lead to washing out essential nutrients from the body, or can even contaminate.

Even the labels on supplements say, take it under Doctor's advice and guidance. A lot of supplements are also cosmetic ones, which really has not much impact on health. It is advisable that a good quality pill is consumed and progress is monitored understanding the risks attached to it. It's always best to consult an expert and then go ahead with recommended dosages and monitor the progress. Not everything that is advertised healthy is genuinely healthy.

In reality, one thing is said that in the current era of social media, everyone has become a doctor, but not all doctors' advice can be taken. You should buy medicine after consulting with the original doctor, otherwise the medicine for that disease will never be effective.Thank you very much for your valuable comments and for presenting such a beautiful block to us.

Social media Doctors are too many these days, especially after Covid I have seen everyone is giving advice and so many of them are fake
