RE: Carbon-60 and Longevity

in #health6 years ago

It does occur naturally from high energy events like lightening strikes and bushfires and is found in
various places , in russia, india and so on in a carbon rock -shungite. But this is only in a tiny percentage
so all the C-60 on the market isn't natural C-60 but synthetic. Its normally made passing a low voltage high ampage current ( like whats used in a welding rod ) between two graphite electrodes in an inert atmosphere . The resulting soot contains C60 , C70 , higher fullerenes and junk carbon. C60 can then be separated from this by direct sublimation from the soot or more commonly with solvents such as toluene.
