What is it about What The Health that's igniting change in so many people? What about all of the documentaries before this one? There are some really great ones but I've never seen quite the impact What The Health is having, especially so quickly. Is it because this comes during a time of major uncertainty throughout the world?

People keep pointing their fingers at Trump and blaming him, yet his very presence and energy has caused America specifically , to really look in the mirror. We've been hiding a lot of issues under the carpet, but now they are seeping through and they smell like rotten poopy! In all seriousness, we need to have the uncomfortable conversations so that we can figure out the solutions and create real positive change.

It is without a doubt that by now, there is a large percentage of Americans waking up to the harsh reality that our food system has been against us, not for us, in many aspects. They don't call it the food and drug administration for nothing, that's for sure.

The motto has been profit > people

time and time again.

Cane sugar became high fructose corn syrup in the 70s because it was more "cost effective" for the companies. The impact this may have on our health is irrelevant because it's saving them money. It took years for them to realize this could potentially have a negative impact on our health.

I remember reading "Eat this, not that" years ago and learning of the rather lenient laws that apply to canned and frozen food. There are a certain amount of rodent hairs, maggots and more that are allowed in both. After I learned this, I refused to eat anything canned or frozen. I mean, ewwwww.

It really doesn't surprise me that we are witnessing a major shift in the food industry. It is because of each and every one of us. We vote with our purchases. If we are not buying the very foods designed to harm us, then eventually, they have to stop selling them. Our food industry is becoming more transparent every year, but we are still not where we need to be. Whatever lifestyle you choose to follow, be conscious of where your food comes from and read the ingredients.
