But first let's look at a fat burning hormone called Growth Hormone (GH). This hormone is triggered by a substance called Arginine, which is an amino acid type of protein that can be found in certain foods. This amino acid can trigger a powerful GH response with these foods which in turn, boosts Testosterone and inhibits Estrogen.

Arginine is found in quantity in green vegetables, nuts, seeds and fruits. Small amounts are found in animal products which seems counter to the massive protein and animal products most associate with gains in the Growth Hormone and Testosterone.

Caution

Arginine can trigger dormant viruses in the body... so for some people eating too many green vegetables can cause minor breakouts of acne, cankers or cold sores (those who have low resistance or are of an adrenal body type). If this does occur, to offset it (or set the virus back in remission) you would just consume a bit more animal product... a juggling act you must find the balance of for yourself.

So would taking Arginine supplements work just as well?

I would say yes, but I do not know your physical condition so ask your doctor. And make sure of what supplement you use.
