Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Sunday (23/09/2018) from Jharkhand today. It is also being called the world's largest health program. Under this scheme, 27 states and all Union Territories have been added to the country. Under this scheme, about 10.74 million poor families (about 50 million people) of the country will get the benefit of health insurance up to 5 lakh under the Health Insurance Scheme.
Who will be the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Jan Swasthya Yojana?
- All the people marked as poor in the socio-economic and caste census of 2011 are considered eligible for the scheme.
- The beneficiaries have been identified on the basis of deprived categories.
- Age will not be compulsory for insurance cover
- There is no restriction on the size of the family
In which hospital treatment
- About 10 thousand hospitals in the country have been selected for this scheme, including both government and private hospitals.
- There will be 1350 diseases, including cancer surgeries and chemotherapy, radiation therapy, heart bypass surgery, neuro surgery, spinal surgery, dental surgery, eye surgery and MRI and CT scan.
- The central government will bear 60 percent of the expenditure on this scheme and 40 percent of the state's burden on the state governments.
Features
- Under this scheme, security insurance will be provided free up to Rs. 5 lakhs, which will help them financially for the treatment of any serious illness.
- This plan will directly benefit 50 crore people of the country.
- There is no limit on the number of members in the age and family.
- Cashless and paperless treatment will be provided in hospitals in this scheme
- Nearly 12,000 listed private hospitals are included in this scheme.
- The amount of security insurance offered in this scheme is per annum. This means that these insurance will be renewed again next year.
- To avail the benefits of this scheme, beneficiary can go to any health and welfare center for treatment.
- National Health Agency has deployed 14,000 health friends to hospitals, which will verify the identity of patients and help them during treatment.
- If someone has a disease in the past and wants to take treatment by taking advantage of this scheme, then he can also get his treatment under this scheme.

- First go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
- Enter your mobile number
- Type the given captcha code and click on the "Generated OTP" red button.
- You received 6 digit code on registered mobile number.
- Enter the 6 digit code and click on submit button.
- The "Name Find" page will open on the website. Where you can find your name that the name of the candidate is in the list of beneficiaries or not, there are three ways to search it.
- Then you have to choose one of the three options 1-Search by Name, 2-By Mobile No, 3-RSBY.
- After this, the candidate has to write his name in the prescribed box, along with the names of his parents, name of the district, age, village name and postcode.
- After that click on the search option and you will get your name
How to claim?
Every hospital in the government panel will have 'Ayushman Friend Help Desk'. There the beneficiary will be able to validate his eligibility through the documents.
