How to understand that the operation will bring you more benefit than harm.
What are glands
Glands are the outgrowths of tissues in the back of the mouth, containing clusters of cells of the immune system. The correct anatomical name for glands is the palatine tonsils.
Why Glands Need
Glands are only a small part of the system of lymphoid tissues scattered throughout the body. Formations similar to palatine tonsils are present in the back of the nose, on the back of the tongue and in the small intestine.
Palatine tonsils participate in the fight against infections, but do not play a special role in this process. That is, after removing the glands, a person will not get sick more often, since the rest of the immune system will continue to function normally.
For unknown reasons, some people suffer from angina often and severely.
Tonsillectomy - an operation to remove glands - reduces the frequency and severity of angina. The only problem is that this procedure is very unpleasant, risky and expensive. Therefore, tonsillectomy should be done only if the benefit exceeds the harm.
