Prevention of malaria

in #health7 years ago

Malaria as simple as people think is one of the major cause of death worldwide especially in the tropics.malaria is transmitted from the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito which carries the causative organisms(plasmodium falciparum).
MECHANISM OF DISEASE TRANSMISSION.
1)Is transmitted through dirty environment
2)exposing of food in a dirty environment.
3)staying in a water logged environment which serves as a breeding home for the young.
NOTE-Only female mosquito feed on blood.male mosquito feed on plant nectar.
SYMPTOMS OF MALARIA
1)Pyrexia which is the medical name for fever.
2)Tiredness
3)vomiting
4)headaches etc.
COMPLICATIONS OF MALARIA
1)cerebral malaria(brain) with seizures, confusion, increasing tiredness, which could lead to coma and death.
2)pulmonary edema(accumulation of fluid in lungs).
3)kidney failure. etc
And malaria kills children more under the age of 5 years because of their low immunity which reminds us of our previous topic immunization.
NOTE-As at now there is no vaccine for malaria so the risk of getting it is quit high and if not treated the causative organism (plasmodium falciparum) through the help of the transport system (blood)it can affect the liver and spleen
causing more complications.
PREVENTION OF MALARIA?
1)Use of mosquito net.
2)insect repellent. etc.
note-chloroquine is one of the drugs that can fight against malaria. Cause the bacteria has become resistant to antibiotics.
Prevention is better than cure so we are to keep our environment free from any diseases and infection. 1280px-Life_Cycle_of_the_Malaria_Parasite.jpg

I can see you are still new here and have a lot to learn. You've given a great post. I lie its originality. Just keep it up.

However, if you don't mind some advice from me, next time make it more explanatory. Make some pretty extensive researches and at the end, you will have a great article to present. At least 500 words with images only from public domains. Ensure you include the source for your images. Pixabay.com is one good place to get free CCO Licensed images. Then use the #steemstem tag and let's see how that turns out.
