The Zen of Caring Less - Daily Boost

in #health7 years ago

With so much hate and criticism being more visible in the world today it's important that we start to care less - sounds strange doesn't it?

So let me explian:
Let's begin with internet trolls. They purposefully spout hateful and controversial bile designed to get a reaction out of people and in the process sew little seeds of hate that grow into bitterness. People try to combat trolls with angry responses or reasoning, but trolls aren't interested as they're winning at that point.
My solution to this kind of problem is to Stop Caring!
If we stop caring what trolls say then we no longer fuel them, get stressed about their idiocy or grow bitter and jaded.

This concept also works on day to day life:
Smashed a plate? Who cares? It's just a plate.
People pestering you? Who cares? That's their problem.
Lost your League of Legends match? Who cares? Games are there to have fun on 🙂

Of course it's important to stand up for what you believe in and care about things like your health and family, but stop caring so much about the little stuff and you'll find there's a lot more room for you to handle the big.

Internet trolls are not worth our energy, you're right. Also, it's worth pointing out that when we comment on the bile that trolls put out into the world, we only increase their audience size. At the end of the day, it's important to realise that someone's sill comments on the internet aren't important enough to merit getting upset about.
