I would add that lined or creased nail indentions are also a sign. I have lines going vertically on my nails and was told by a nurse that I may be Vitamin D deficient. I got blood work don and scored a 25. I needed to be between 30 and 100. So I am going to need now to take D pills. Great and helpful article. Thanks @doitvoluntarily
