"but refuse to be vaccined could affect immunological response of the rest of the population" Isn't it the prime purpose of the vaccine in the first place, to be immune against the disease? Your sentence just speaks for itself. Actually believe it or not but you are more likely to get a disease from a recently vaccined person with live virus than a non vaccinated one. Diseases did not get eradicated because of the vaccines, but because of improved sanitary conditions and better nutrition.
It has been always a controversial issue. The only way to obtein a trustworthy data is comparing vaccined and no vaccined populations in isolated environment from each other. I saw children die from measles and meningitis from haemofilus, and this events disappeared with the arrival of vaccines, and this remained despite the low socio-economic and nutritional conditions of the work area. There are diseases that were eradicated with vaccines.
