Looking for a quick reset button? A way to clear your body and mind... Try not eating for 30-40 hours.
Yesterday was my first time fasting this long. I didn't eat for about 40 hours, and I feel great. Up into this point I've been feeling shitty, and having minimal desire to get up in the mornings. I've been working over 100 hours bi weekly and haven't had the chance or energy to eat as healthy as I usually do.
I started listening to @dollarvigilante 's vlogs on youtube and he mentioned intermediate fasting. He swore it did wonders for him and it got me interested to try it out myself.
I've fasted before, but never for over 24 hours (not that I can remember).
- Although , I broke my jaw a couple years ago playing rugby, and I had to get my mouth wired shut for a whole month. I was only able to drink liquids, for that whole time, and even 2 weeks after I had my mouth unwired I couldn't eat solid food. I lived off fruit juices and things of that nature. So that was definitely the most intense fast for me, but I don't consider it to be a pure fast since I was constantly on pain medication, and smoking a lot of herb. I ended up losing about 20 pounds pure muscle and I was already thin before this experience.
This time I only drank a couple cups of water and stayed away from all substances.
I had a long shift in the morning when I first started, and I assumed I would feel weak from not eating. But on the contrary I began to feel more energized. Prior to this I was having slight stomach bloating from constantly eating shitty food at work. After getting over the first initial food cravings, I started to feel my stomach at ease.
- its normal not to eat a whole day right... back in the day we didn't have a consistent supply of food to be eating breakfast lunch and dinner, so I think its only natural to abstain from food every once in a while.
To my surprise, I didn't even want to eat after the first couple hours. I began to look at people's eating habits in a totally different light.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner- 7 days a week, 365 days a year... Can you believe we were brainwashed to think this was ok! It's cultural norm here to eat like this, and to skip a meal is considered "unhealthy" by most peoples standards.
I swear I had a 180 degree flip in mood after this fast. I became hyper aware, and super happy with life. There's people that water fast for weeks, but since I've been working everyday non stop, I didn't want to feel the fatigue of not eating, so after 40 hours I decided to eat again.
Although I didn't crave anything. I felt like I could continue fasting for a couple more days, but I decided to have something instead just for the sake of potentially not having the energy to work. Although I felt very charged during the whole fast.
I felt light on my feet, and woke up with a surprising amount of energy.
The point of all of this is that fasting makes you feel fucking great. If your feeling depressed, or don't have as much energy as you should throughout they day, fasting is a quick way to allow your body (digestive system) the proper rest and in turn feel more vibrant.
I recommend you try it,

I am intermittend fasting on a 17/7 schedule, not to lose weight but for the benefits of the state of ketosis. In the weekends I generally to make it 20/4 (4 hour eating window).
I wake up energized when I stop eating a couple hours before I take my rest, and I only get hungry a couple of times, but a tea or a coffee helps a lot with that.
How did you format your pictures like that?

Thank you!! :)
Fucking interesting. I hate being hungry but I noticed I've been eating less (taking a few naps) but I notice 1/2 meals a day is actually plenty. Have you done it again?
Another thing I like is cold showers. If I'm not feeling froggy enough, I'll do a lukewarm shower, and then go full cold at the end. I have so much more energy!
