No, not rumors -- but, fortunately, that was the first stage I wrote about above ("fingers growing out of skulls"). We're planning to do the third stage, although my beliefs (and programming experience) lead me towards the second stage, even though those stem cells don't replicate as fast.
Edit: You mentioned actors. Mel Gibson's dad had these treatments, and made some documentary videos about it you can find on YouTube. Good thing he didn't take version 1!
In programming, we used to say "Microsoft doesn't get the bugs out until version 3." Which was why Windows NT, when initially released, was "version 3.1" (I know it was to sync it with other Windows versions -- but still, the joke fits).
