Hi! Today I bring you a post about what we can do when you suffer a burn injury.
The burns are skin injuries caused by physical, chemical or electric agents... These can be clasified as 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade burns.
Steps to follow if you have a light grade burn
- put the affected zone in water for 20 minutes . The water must be natural temperature, otherwise, you can cause a thermic shock.
- carefully, try to remove the clothes that make the burn get worse
- cover the burn with some clean material, make sure that is sterile, moisten it a little bit before putting it on the affected zone, they can be gauzes ir even sheets.
Now these are the things you must not do - don't put too cold or too hot water on the injury
- don't put any kind of cream over the buen
- don't put any cloth that can leave remains on the burn
- don't put thick clothes over the injuried zone
Steps to follow when someone suffers a serious burn.
- call emergency (911)
- if we can get out the person of the fire, soak with water and retire what is causing the injury, chemicals or fire
- if the clothing is on fire extinguish ir with water or cover it with some coat or sheet, after this make the person roll with the coat or sheet on it to help the extintion of the flames
- you can offer the person your support , asking how he or she feels, this can help in case that the person is shocked
Remember that you must NOT risk your life, you must evaluate the situation , if you see that your life is in danger the best way you can help is calling the emergency numbers, remember that we all don't have the training to rescue people from a fire.
I hope this will be useful to you, let me know if you like posts like this on the comments and what you can contribute to help in these cases
