How To Make The Most Of A Crowded Monday Morning...Before Rush Hour

in #health7 years ago

Boy, busy day at the gym this morning. After squats, I transition to the bench press but all the flat benches were occupied by the time I got there. So, I bought some time by doing the incline press for a couple of sets until a flat bench popped open.

At least it wasn't this bad!

Then I found the dip bars occupied too after I finished the dead lift. That meant that I passed up on the weighted tricep dips and did a substitute exercise for that muscle group. No complaints from me, just had to adjust my routine.

Anyhow, the numbers...

squat - 10x45 5x95 3x115 3x125 2x135 2x145 5x155 5x160 5x165 5x145

No new mark here since I continue to stall out in this area. I am very focused on getting good depth and keeping good form doing squats. Gotta be patient, so I will continue to do 3 sets of different weights for this exercise. Once I hit 165 for 3 sets then I will bump it up. Form, form, form....

incline bench - 10x45 5x95 3x115 5x135 5x145
bench - 5x155 5x165 3x145

No new marks in the bench. Maybe Friday??

dead lift - 5x135 3x205 5x235 3x205

Yes, 235 is a new high for the dead lift. Using chalk on my hands is really helping with keeping my grip on the 5 reps.

close grip bench - 6x95 5x105 5x115

This was my tricep substitute for today.

outward curls - 15x27.5 8x32.5 9x32.5

One other thing to mention is that I step up my calorie intake on workout days, especially on the protein side. I only weight about 170
