Many of the points made in this post ring familiar to me in a college feminism course I took. We learned quite a bit about all of the positive and negative stereotypes associated with men or women. Masculinity was almost always criticized as machismo, piggish, or lazy. What is so wrong with watching some violence on tv and enjoying junk food with the bros, because we want some space from family and women? Sometimes it is tiring to behave the way women around expect us to be all the time (ie. respectful, gentlemen, chivalrous). Just my perspective on the challenges of preserving masculinity in the modern world. Hope it doesn't bother anyone too much.

Ah, you know, absolutely nothing wrong with slapping backs with the lads and making fart jokes. This is part of masculinity in my eyes.
What I'm trying to say it's recognise yourself as a whole, so whilst making fart jokes and comparing willy sizes with the lads, recognise that it's ok at times when you feel sad and a bit inferior. I do too at times. It's part of regular life.
Also, it's good to recognise when it's acceptable to do what. Probably making fart jokes and competing really hard isn't a great stance around women as it is with the lads.
