Grossing out husbands sure can be fun! This past summer I gave birth to twins and I also had both placentas encapsulated. I was planning to have a homebirth as well but because twins are out of the scope of midwives practice I was transferred to an OB. Still, I managed to have a natural, unmedicated birth in a hospital. I mourned the loss of my midwives and homebirth like a death but now that my babies are here I will choose not to dwell on the past. Our start was really rough, including a 5 day hospital stay (details to come when I finally have a chance to sit down and write out my birth story). I ended up seeing a lactation consultant and doing lots of research when we finally got home. While I did encapsulate and consume my placentas as well, I am undecided on whether or not I would do it again. Here is an interesting article I came across in my research that I think you may appreciate: https://www.happygoatproductions.com/blog/2017/9/6/a-lactation-consultants-perspective-on-placenta-encapsulation

Oh, my goodness! Twins! Go, mama! I would really enjoy reading your birth story!
I agree, I don't know if I would do the encapsulation again. I would probably bury it if there is a next time. :)
Thanks for sharing that article! :)
Blessings!
Ha ha! Thanks. I hope they start napping soon so I can actually find some time to write it. :)
