Obesity is basically a disease inducing state and nothing to be proud of.
I get the people who don't give a shit about how they look because they enjoy eating crap too much. But being proud of being fat is lazy and irresponsible because it can convince other people that it is normal and ok.
Just to be clear: I understand people who say being fat is ok esthetically, because beauty is subjective. Health on the other hand is not subjective.
And the burden obesity has on our medical system is immense.
