DIET AND DENTAL HEALTH

in #health7 years ago

Instead of growing and preparing their own food, the bulk of our food are processed foods bought from shops, not to add the numerous junk we eat_ sweets, chocolate, biscuits. All of these are detrimental to our health. It is especially important for children, older people and pregnant women to eat right.

Try to eat a lot of fresh fruits and leafy green vegetables. Vegetables have fibre in them and this prevents food from sticking to the gums in the mouth. Fresh fruits contain vitamins and minerals that help ensure healthy gums. When it is difficult to bite into fruits, sequeeze them out and drink the juice.

Soft and sweet foods and drinks with a lot of sugar are bad for both teeth and gums. They mix with germs and create bereeding ground for the growth of dangerous bacteria and subsequently dental damage.

After soft foods are eaten ,the teeth should be properly brushed and flossed, as these tend to stick to the teeth and can easily mix with germs. Our dental health is in our hands.
