"You learn a lot when you're barefoot. The first thing is every step you take is different." - Michael Franti
Now that warm weather is here it is time to kick of your shoes and dig your toes into the grass and soil. Did you know that walking barefoot benefits the body in various ways?
Since we live in a tropical country I hardly wear shoes and I am loving it! The dirtier my feet at the end of the day the better....
Grounding, aka earthing, is the simple act of walking barefoot with your feet directly touching the soil. It allows your body to absorb negative electrons through the Earth, which helps to stabilize daily cortisol rhythm and create a balanced internal bioelectrical environment.
But that's not the only benefit you'll get! Here are a few more reasons to kick off those shoes more often:
- Reduces pain and inflammation
- Improves sleep
- Boosts the immune system
- Regulates the nervous system, decreasing the feeling of anxiety and stress
- May lessen the severity of menstrual cramps
- Helps to loosen tense muscles
- Alleviates headaches and migraine
- Boost energy levels
- Reduce the electromagnetic charge within the body and prevent you from the harmful effects of EMF’s
Over time, we have lost much of our connection with Mother Earth due to modern living, but making an effort to spend more time barefoot in nature can provide more benefits than you would think.
Convinced? You'd better! Even if you don't experience any of these benefits, walking barefoot directly connects you with Mother Earth. And that alone is a reason to feel happy!
That is the reason my parents always insisted me to walk bare foot in the garden
Ha the feeling of fresh grass between your toes.... such a great feeling! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you very much for giving us these important information, really it’s to first time I know it!
Happy weekend my dear!
Thanks @creativewoman!
Love this, and let's face it... there is no better feeling than walking on the beach so you can feel your toes in the sand! Walking barefoot feels so free and I am with you on encouraging people to kick their shoes off more often! :)
Agree. Think I might go for a swim after work and get some beach therapy hehe! Thanks for stopping by.
Of course! And life is so much better with beach therapy! :)
Have a barely foot
and a very good sunday :-)
Hehe. Thanks my friend!
You're welcome
This is so important, I love to see the change in my children the second they are one with nature.
I hear you. It's so good for them. So many kids spend too much hours before a screen these days that they forget about the importance of being and playing outside. Have a lovely day.
"The dirtier my feet the better" I totally agree. Dirt has become something people fear but they don't fear some of the real toxins.
I'm going to a park now to take off my shoes!
Thanks for sharing.
I am with you. They don't mind chemicals in processed foods but are scared when their kids play in the dirt. Strange world we live in. Hope you had a great time at the park.
I love to walk barefoot in the wild! It's kinda crazy how great it feels sometimes haha
True that! Nature is the best therapist hehe!
LOVE this one :-) I always feel the need to be barefoot and never really realised why. Makes sense!
The power of being connected with mother earth. We just love it too... and it's too hot for shoes anyway.
perfect post on the benefits of “earthing”, fellow barefooted sister! thanks for laying it all out here to, and for, the uninitiated and those of us already in “the-know”!
Thanks for reminding me about this post. I wrote it so long ago... but still love walking barefoot. Nothing better than to feel grounded in this chaotic world!
you are well..., come be in common-unity fellow earthing-ling! 🦶 🦶 🤗
