Paradise Secret Beach Cove: Makapu'u hidden treasure

Aloha everyone!

Today, I got a very special place to share with you. I promise that this is one of those places that only those who live here and a lover of the outdoors will find. It is tucked away, right in front of your eyes, if you are planning to hike Makapu'u lighthouse, that is.

I am located on the island of Oahu. The specific location of this hike is on the South side of Oahu, at Makapu'u Lighthouse hike. It is a quick drive right after Hanauma Bay snorkerling spot and then right after the sandy beach area. I have a map of the specific location, for your convenience, at the very bottom. Lets'' begin....

From the Makapu'u trail head, we will be making a right into the dry grassy area versus going up the paved trail. From this first photo, look to your right. Do you see that tall rock that is standing out to our right?! Yes, we are heading that way. Our very short journey of about half a mile is encountered by a very small beach area. We can stop here for a little while for some lunch or play fetch with our beloved best friend; Fiedo. I will wait until you are ready to continue...

Great! Now lets' explore further! Here we are at a better view of the beach cove. I'm so excited to venture further as your tour guide because I know you'll absolutely love what you're about to see. Ok, I will quiet down so you can explore. Enjoy!

Well? What do you think so far?! It's okay, right?! Great! Remember that rock that we looked at as a destination pillar?! Well, here it is. We are now heading to some of the most beautiful views this secret hideaway will present to you. Yes, it's a very small but rather gorgeous spot for some photo opportunity, picnic for two, and a safe snorkeling spot. Here is the view of that rock from the ocean side....

I know you probably can't see it from this picture but there were actually many schools of fish; I think they are called PIKES...skinny fish with very narrow, skinny nose. They were everywhere, so close to the edge of ocean meets rocks so close to me...I so loved it...

Here's a view from where I stand looking out towards the north side of Oahu: that's Koko Crater and sandy beach to its' left. Gorgeous view, right?! And the beauty at my feet. True story; that's my foot...I'm not a robot!!!

As we continues, I was very lucky enough to witness two ladies who came here specifically to snorkel at this very secluded hidden beach area. Gosh, I couldn't get enough of that gorgeous views but had to leave at some point to share the beauty with all of you.
