NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Today is a happy day for my people!

The doe goat that @smailer and @exploretraveler donated to our homestead was actually pregnant when we picked her up, which was a surprise for us. As I suspected, she had twins, but only one made it through the delivery. As sad as that may be, at least we still have one new kid on the block!

First off, here is the happy mama, Daisy, our soon to be milk goat! And now, what you've all been waiting for.

A FEW CUTE PHOTOS

The @Little-Peppers are pretty fun and creative. Since the happy mama was already named "Daisy" they chose to call the older buck "Crockett." It's a variation of "Davy Crockett," but then they took things further and chose to name this young buckling "King," because that was the next word in the song. LOL!

HAPPY FAMILY!!!

Moments like this make me so grateful for the lifestyle that we have chosen. To see such joy on the face of my children is a huge blessing, and I'm glad that they get to take part in the wonderful miracle of life. What better way to appreciate it than with a new goat!

Congratulations on the newbie...

Papa if im ever in your area I need to come see your farm. With all these adorable baby animals you should open up a petting zoo :)

a baby buck?
CABRITO!!!!

I imagine you've already discovered the smelly downside of bucks.
wether you intend to keep it or not that's something to consider.

He’s so cute and the kids seem to adore him! Congratulations on the new addition!

That is what makes family so special. Goats are funny like Oatmeal.

Exactly like oatmeal!

They really do!

Congratulations on the cute new goat 🐐

living for you papa interacting with animals is fun, seeing them grow in our pets makes us happy enough. Although different types but the animals we maintain can make us love him like family. I used to keep goats in my junior high school but my favorite goats had to die because of human poison because I kept them. He was poisoned into a neighbor's garden

Congratulations on the new addition! Love seeing all those smiley faces. The last photo is particularly sweet. Great job Daisy!! ^_^

Great job Daisy indeed! First time mother!

Bravo! A little tip from when my big alpine doe only had one kid; I had to tape off the teat the kid favoured so as to even out the udder. Generally they have two kids so we don't run into that issue, but there being just one you may want to keep an eye out for that. Bigger goats like nubians & alpines produce a lot of milk!

a very funny goat, and a happy family welcomed the birth of a goat, hehehe

Awww.... congratulations on the new arrival - as I thought very cute!!!

posstingan nice @papa-pepper, i've upvote you, do not forget my upvote @azhariari

Sweet! We had to leave our milk goat, Daisy, with my parents when we left California. She was a Nubian/Alpine cross and had the cleanest tasting milk ever, giving us 3/4 of a gallon each morning! We let the babies drink all day and only separated them at night. Now going through so much grass fed butter that we're thinking instead of a goat, in the spring, we maybe going with a little Dexter cow. We'll see! The baby goats are so cute!

I focus on their funny expressions. I can enjoy the photo. thank you @papa-pepper

What a beautiful new addition to the homestead. The children are certainly enjoying the new little fellow. Sorry for the loss of his twin.

@little-peppers look so excited about the kid and Daisy is appropriate for her as she is a beauty.

All those kids are so cute!!

ALL of them!

Aww, it's so nice to see their smiling little faces! The goat's pretty cute too! :)

Sure is a small littler feller - but he won't be soon

That kid (the goat) is so cute! Your kids are really cute too! I've been trying to convince Dad we need a goat... We have 6000 sq metres and it would be perfect for a goat to munch on and I have 12 grandchildren that pop in regularly to play with. But we need to develop a portable shelter to move around because it gets damn hot here in Queensland. So still working on that aspect of the dilemma. But I hope to figure it out by autumn...

The farm I love on has goats.
Bork! BORK!

This a very nice animal photo i like it thanks for sharing this post.. Carry on..

@papa-pepper became Papa (In Hindi Papa means dad)

The goat is looking cute, your family photo is complete now.

God bless your family.

Love those white floppy ears.

La vida en familia es algo maravilloso, te deseo que esa felicidad sea para siempre

Congrats with the baby goat! It is so adorable.

may GOD make you hapoy all time

Is mamma goat feeding like she should be? The baby is adorable!

Congratulations! Stinkerbelle had her baby yesterday around noon too!

TOO CUTE!!! I look forward to seeing many more pictures of the newest kid!!! :-D Your own children are quite cute too! Sorry to hear about the other little twin though...

Raised many goats in the past to help clear our homestead pastures. They did a great job getting the pasture ready for the cows we have now. Warning, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence for goats though.
