Rainbow Handicraft Nepal (www.handicraftnepal.org) is a small scale enterprise established with the objective of giving free handicraft skill development trainings like weaving, dyeing textile, sewing, cutting and designing different handicraft products like bags, laptop case, hammock, table mat etc.
The project is located in Pokhara Nepal is a social venture by Mrs. Goma Dhakal, a long time social worker. She also is the director of Rainbow Children Home Nepal (www.orphancarenepal.org), a children home providing home, education, health and development opportunities to 45 marginalized children in Nepal. In addition to supporting more 30 children with academic sponsorships, Rainbow Children Home Nepal also carried out relief activities to 17 rural villages in Nepal damaged due to the April 2015 mega earthquake in Nepal. To add it all, the home was able to reconstruct a damaged health centre in Dhading called Goganpani Health Centre and has already handed over the management to the local community.
Anyway, the idea of Rainbow Handicraft Nepal came after the home was also to give professional development opportunities to growing children in Nepal.
