Halloween Vibes On A Farm
It's been nearly two weeks since I posted on Hive; probably one of the longest breaks I've ever taken since joining the blockchain back in 2017! Reason being, I suddenly got really busy IRL with all sorts of things. My parents, that were staying with me all summer, have now returned home so I now have more time to dedicate to content creation and having a little fun on here.
In the mean time I've also got out to enjoy the season a bit. Following a couple of weeks of rain and cold, we got some autumn sunshine and good weather with temperatures reaching as high as 21ΒΊC a few days ago. Today was nice - not too hot at about 13ΒΊC and patchy clouds with a little drizzle here and there.
Over the weekend I visited a farm that had a Halloween fest. It was quite packed, as expected, with families with thousands of young children running around. It was cool to see all the fancy dress the kids had on. My favourite was little Spider-Man and a zombie painted green from head to toe. So cool.
The farm went out of their way to make the fest fun. I don't think I've ever seen so many pumpkins in one place in my life. There was a section full of graves with skeletons and witches sticking out of the ground. They also had fake crows that looked pretty real. I wonder how much it cost to put all that together.
The pumpkins were for sale, so they probably made some money there. It was so cool to see the wide variety of pumpkins on display, all of which are grown on the farm. You'd never seen that kind of variety in a supermarket. Visiting the cafe part was free but there was a small fee to enter the Halloween fest, which I thought was well worth it and value for money especially now that everything costs an arm and a leg. I didn't buy a pumpkin but now I wish I had. I looked at pumpkins in Asda today and they cost twice as much as they did on the farm. lol.
In a couple of days I'm going to have hoards of kids knocking my door dressed as the craziest things haha. Of course the parents or other such adults accompany them here, but usually stand a distance away to give the kids a bit of free space to be kids. I better get my bag of sweets ready. I'm going to be buying from a dedicated sweets shop we have down the road because of the variety.
Halloween is the second most festive event of the year in my area; even more so than Easter. Christmas is the first. I think because Easter is isolated in spring time is why it's not as festive as the rest, compared to Halloween, New Years, Christmas, Bunfire Night, e.t.c, which are all within days of each other.π
Peace & Love,

Look at that ice-cream!
haha. it tasted insane. They make them on the farm from the milk they get from the farm cows! That's what they tell us anyway. I got honeycomb + Cookies & Cream. π¦
Looks delicious! And no half-measures π
Love the colours and kids enjoy it so much. Itβs a fun time.
The photos don't do justice. It looked proper rustic.. I couldn't get a proper photo without photographing people's kids :)
Yeah understandable
