THE WORD OF GOD OUR SOURCE OF VICTORY

The Word of God has been literally manifested before us in two distinct forms, but yet they are still One in the same. They are One in purpose, and One in will! God’s Word is His will and Jesus was God’s will expressed in action!

In the New Covenant we are given two Greek words to express the meaning of the Word of God.

1. Logos: is the written, said or verbally expressed Word of God. Jesus Himself is also called the Logos or Word of God that became flesh.
2. Rhema: is the living, spoken; saying Word of God. It is the portion of God’s Word that is made alive in us & comes out of us (in power) in times of need.

Jn. 1:1-3;14
(The Logos)

Eph. 6:17
(The Rhema)

**Not everything written in the Bible is the Word of God! Not everything in the Bible is the Truth. Why? Because there are many things recorded in the Bible that are not in line with the complete Word of God! For example, Job said, “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away…” However, we have already seen that God was the One Who gave, but Satan was the one who took away! Therefore, Job’s statement was not in line with the complete Word of God and hence was NOT true!

God Has Exalted His Word Above His Own Name

Ps. 138:2b
[Also see: Prov. 30:5,6 / Ps. 89:34 / Ps. 119:89]

The Word of God is His bond. It is the way He does & wants things done in the earth. Nothing was created without His Word. It is the basis for everything we have with God. His Word can & is to be trusted. What He says—He will do!!!

The true test of a believer’s faith in God is when one believes and acts in faith upon what God has already told us in His written and personal spoken Word. The only way any believer can walk in victory is by complete dependence upon the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We must trust their guidance or we will live in defeat!

Jn. 14:26 (TAB)

The Holy Spirit is in control on this earth in Jesus’ place. He gives us instructions from Jesus and He always leads us into all truth. He will never lead us to

do something that contradicts the written Word of God! The written Word of God is our measuring stick which gives us our standard by which to discern truth from a lie! We must learn to trust God’s written Word so that we will know which voice we hear speaking to us. Only the Written Word can give us 100% assurance of truth!

God’s Word Promises Healing

1 Pet. 2:24

[Also see: Prov. 4:20-22 / Matt. 9:23 / Matt. 15:26 / James 1:17 / Matt. 6:10]

2 Cor. 1:20: tells us that “All the promises are YES and in Christ, Amen (so be it).” And we are in Christ and He is in us, therefore, all His promises to us are YES!

God’s Word Teaches Many Forms of Healing

James 5:14-16

[Also see: 1 Cor. 12:9,10 / Ps. 107:20]

God teaches us in His Word several ways to receive healing: Anointing with oil & the laying on of hands, special gifts of healings; Super-natural working of miracles and faith in the Word of God alone!

Why Some People Appear To Not Receive Healing?

  1. Doubt, unbelief; lack of faith (sin)
  2. Failure to ask God for healing
  3. Refusal to hear & act on the Word of God!
  4. Healing is progressive—sometimes it comes in stages!

How Most People Lose Their Healing

Mk. 4:14-20;24

Matthew’s account of this parable says, Satan steals the Word out of those who do not understand what they heard. Once we have received the Word of God concerning healing, Satan comes immediately to challenge that Word, and if we don’t have a root of faith and dependence upon God’s Word in us—he will steal the Word out of us and we will lose our healing or whatever the miracle happened to be!

The enemy comes to us with lying symptoms of that old disease that we have been healed of and when this happens most say, “Oh, I thought I was healed—I guess I wasn’t,” and then he’s got them right where he wants them.

Scriptural Support

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-3;14 NKJV)

When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, (Matt. 9:23 NKJV)

But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matt. 15:26-28 NKJV)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

(Matt. 6:10 NKJV)

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. (1 Cor. 12:9,10 NKJV)

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. (Ps. 107:20 NKJV)

"The sower sows the word. "And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. "These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; "and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble. "Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, "and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. "But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."…Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
(Mark 4:14-20;24 NKJV)
