The company that developed the BlackWallet crypto-currency wallets was the victim of a hacker attack. The unknown transferred from the company's account about $ 444 thousand in coins Stellar Lumen, reports CoinDesk.
As cyber security specialist Kevin Beaumont noted, on weekend the attackers broke into the DNS server and added a new code element, due to which all deposits of 20 or more Lumen began to be redirected to a third-party purse.
According to Bleeping Computer, hackers managed to withdraw about 670 thousand Lumen - $ 444 thousand at that time. As a result, by 19:30 UTC on Monday, BlackWallet account left less than 100 coins.
Later, the user Reddit, who introduced himself as the creator of BlackWallet, said that his account with the provider of hosting services was compromised, which led to the hacking. At the moment, the purse site is not available.
"I am truly sorry and I hope that we will be able to return the funds. Now I'm negotiating with my hosting provider to get as much information about hackers, "the user wrote.
According to him, a significant part of the stolen funds was transferred to an account on the Bittrex crypto exchange. It is not yet known whether the pad will freeze these coins.
