Il Jargon File è un documento in origine redatto da Raphael Finkel e attualmente mantenuto da Eric S. Raimond, un hacker di fama mondiale.

Quest’opera è un vocabolario del gergo usato dagli hacker e dai professionisti dell’IT, ma contiene anche definizioni e regole di “Bon Ton” da rispettare in rete.

A differenza di un normale dizionario però rivestono molta importanza anche le varie appendici, mirate a definire meglio la figura e l’etica dell’hacker.

Un gruppo di persone formato ovviamente da entusiasti informatici sta traducendo la versione odierna, così anche chi non “mastica” la lingua inglese può informarsi su tale gergo.
