I Just Got Hacked

in #hacked2 years ago

A couple of days ago, I was hit by a ransomware virus and it encrypted all my files, I deleted the virus and the files and continued using the laptop as normal, after that I noticed that my laptop cannot read my headphones even when its plugged in and the sound would come from the laptop speakers only, I tried everything found online, updating drivers, etc.. but nothing worked, I contacted hp support and they told me that the windows became corrupt due to the virus and I have to reboot it and install a new copy from another laptop and I did, the windows worked fine and I installed some apps I owned and the headphones problem was fixed. Yesterday, I went to a store and installed a 1 tb ssd for my laptop but without removing the old one, so i have 2 ssds in the same laptop. after that the laptop became a bit slow which I understood it because the ssd is trying to adapt to the pc , after it became faster, I noticed something weird, that the chrome format I used to have before the reboot came back again, chrome lets you arrange the website you usually use without needing to search them and i didn't do this after the rebooting, I was worried that somehow the old windows corrupt drivers came back which seems impossible to happen, i tried my headphones, and the left side made distorted sounds and only the right side works, tried to find solutions but in vain and the hp support told me to reboot again and if it is still there its a hardware issue. I finished the problem . But now my opinion on this is that the original SSD somehow stored the old corrupted windows and made it work again.
