Getting rid of monopolies inside the sharing economy: GSE style!

The mobile internet boom has had some interesting outcomes, it has led to a whole new crop of billion-dollar companies and it has allowed for the creation for entirely new industries: One such industry that couldn't have worked without mobile internet is the sharing industry, oh we're calling it the sharing economy.

Don't get me wrong, I’m all about innovation, what i don't like is how colonizing all these big companies have become. Before i go any further I’d love to share a company I’ve been obsessed with lately - it's called GSENetwork and i like to think of it as the monopoly killer but in all honesty it's more than that. GSENetwork is a blockchain based network that was created for the sharing economy. Its main function is to close the trust gap that has manifested itself over the online world and the real world, GSENetwork will do this by giving every one of its platform users a digital footprint that can be mapped onto a trust score.

Why are monopolies and monopolized systems so 'evil' and what can GSENetwork do about it?

First mover advantage is key for any business especially for the sharing economy. Companies understand that the earliest person, with the biggest market share will always attract the most funding they will also scare away competitors. This is why big brands like uber are busy trying to take over every city they can. If it gets to a point where a company with billions in the bank is going around conquering country after country it seems more like colonization than competition.

The disadvantage of this is that monopolies inside the sharing economy will always have the last word. Whatever they say goes and becomes law. Assuming you went through Airbnb's terms of service or privacy policy and hated something about it - it would be much harder to influence a government law than changing whatever Airbnb has served up for you and there's nothing you can do. Same goes for pricing, the prices set by the companies are set in stone and only they have the power to change it. GSENetwork is taking a different approach to pricing - by using a unique pricing module, the company hopes to utilize a dynamic pricing strategy that will allows users to come up with their own pricing rules, rules that work for them.

GSENetwork believes that a sharing economy should be more about sharing, it also believes in giving all the power to the users, and it shows by their tokenization program. The platform will incentivize users to participate and add value to the platform, rewarding them with GSE Tokens for the effort.

This tactic also works to build on the aspect of decentralization, see centralized companies like Airbnb have become 'gods' because of the massive amounts of user data they have in their possession this allows them to not only means their users have no say as to how their data is used, it also allows them to manipulate the market in their favor unfortunately its thanks to this model that trust is failing - people just don't believe their data is safe and it's true having all the data at a central point is like dangling a lamb's leg on top of a lion's enclosure, hackers and cyber criminals just can't help themselves and even if you spend millions on security, centralized systems always have a weak point, by incentivizing the users, GSENetwork knows users will engage better with the platform thus creating their very own trust profile. Through this process the user is always in control of his or her own data and they alone can decide what they want to do with it.
