Captain Fiorentina, Davide Astori, died in Udine at the age of 31 years, on Sunday (4/3/2018) local time.
Not yet known the main cause of Davide Astori died. according to The Guardian, Astori breathed his last while staying at the hotel with his colleagues ahead of Serie A advanced game against Udinese on Sunday.
"Fiorentina was very shaken and was forced to announce bad news, our captain, Davide Astori, passed away," Fiorentina's official statement said.
"For this sad situation, especially to honor the family of the players, we expect media sensitivity," the statement continued.
Lega Serie A confirmed, Udinese vs Fiorentina match will be postponed following this incident.
