Purpose
The primary purpose of my Steemit account is to support Gridcoin, an altruistic cryptographic coin that rewards work on scientific tasks. Over the past few months I’ve been lurking – primarily around Steemit, the CryptoCurrencyTalk forum and the Gridcoin Slack channel – absorbing information, upvoting, re-steeming, liking and reacting, making mistakes, learning from them and developing understanding.
Now it’s time to be a small part of the learning process for others. 2018 will, hopefully, bring with it a wave of newbs to Gridcoin. These new members will need access to easily understandable information and updates about the progress and discussions happening within the community. My goal is to join those in the community who are providing this information and support them in all the ways I can.
Reaching this point would not have been possible without the lessons learned from a multitude of Gridcoin community members who are too many to name but nevertheless have my thanks.
Here’s to the spread of information, to new members and, ultimately, the growth of Gridcoin!

You should add the #introduceyourself tag to one of your first posts
I noticed this after I posted; it had been a while since I created my account and read the recommended procedure. Is there a way that I can edit it in? Should I include it in my next post?
i believe it goes by your first tag, and you can't change the first tag once the post is made. i suggest making a similar post, and making the first tag "introduceyourself", then possibly deleting this one. lol
