RE: ATTENTION ALL STEEMIT COMMUNITIES! THE STEEMIT GREETERS GUILD COMMUNITY INITIATIVE, "THE WRITER'S GUILD" IS OFFICIALLY OFF THE GROUND AS OF TODAY!

in #greetersguild6 years ago

It is not confined within your group if it appears on Steemit, and it very much appears on Steemit in this post. We ask politely and well within reason that you amend the name so that it in no way reflects on our initiative. We are well-branded all over Steemit with an active tag.

Shadowspub, who is a "she," by the way, is the one who called this to my attention. You're not getting off on the right foot here, friend. I would encourage you to learn a tiny bit more about our group before you decide to appropriate our name.

@rhondak, at any rate, I do apologize for the inconvenience and the misunderstanding. Changing the artwork up now, so it will take a little bit. Please be patient.

I appreciate your responsiveness to this issue, and so do other members of The Writers' Block.

No problem. It would be appreciated if your group would simmer down on something I worked incredibly hard to get off the ground. Namely, you. An edit of some of the arrogant comments would be nice, as I am being a decent human being and accommodating you entirely.

@rhondak changing it as we speak....meant no harm. Your arrogance however, is a bit unsettling for someone in a leadership position. Especially when the issue is actively being resolved. It would be nice to not have to deal with this, you could have after all, been an adult and messaged me on Discord and it could have been handled without you and your friends jumping in to destroy something I worked hard to create. A resolution could have long been accomplished without such action, and honestly, all you have truly accomplished is make yourselves look ridiculous, considering the situation was being resolved from the moment it had become a situation.

You are being facetious, and it isn't a good look. For starters, we don't believe you had no knowledge of The Writers' Block. If that is the case, I'm not sure you're in touch enough with the Steemit community at large to be heading up a project like this. If you persist in using the name in one incarnation or another, I think you will find it to be more hassle for you than it's worth. Not from us, but from people who land on your doorstep under false pretenses, and don't find the professional community they were looking for.

Yes, I get it OK, I honestly do, and have been working on changing it since you commented. there is really no need to continue this, on my hard work, being this post I wrote that took me a nice piece of time. It's being resolved, so please let it be resolved. I don't need a group of people on here, first and foremost saying I or my people are unprofessional, or any of the comments on here. Please, edit the arrogant remarks and insulting ones and keep it moving. You honestly aren't making a good look for your group either, bombarding OUR material and upvoting these ridiculous comments to be at the very top. Not a good look at all, especially considering it has been in the process of resolution since the issue was even presented.

Wow...you can clearly see who actually cares about other people. What a completely uncalled for comment on something that someone worked endless hours on. I would never say something like this on someone else's post when I can clearly see that they are trying to help the community, even if they had the same name. This just launched, it has caused no harm at all and was easily fixed. This right here proves my point as to why I push so hard to work with @greetersguild and helping new users instead of chasing all of the "bigger" fish.

@magicalmoonlight, we all know that not every self proclaimed leader on this platform has the ability, respect, attitude or compassion to speak to people in a proper manner or conduct things in an absolutely positive way. Unfortunately, to some people, ignorance is bliss and they dwell on being on a pedestal above other people. So let them say what they chose, it only makes them look bad and deter people from associating with them. We have the ability to turn the ignorance into diamonds, simply by turning the other cheek and continuing to work hard for each other. Either way, we coined a better name, our initiative is solid, our initiative will give anyone a run for their money and we will continue on with our purpose, which is something honorable, regardless if people view us as unprofessional or whatever their opinion may be. We have a group with an actual purpose as we have proven and we work harder for this platform than any group in existence, so I'm happy with that at the end of the day :)

Long live @greetersguild and the amazing ladies and gentlemen within this guild that are changing lives for the better on a daily basis. WE are the future of the Steemit platform and WE are the ones preserving it's integrity and growth on a positive level, day in and day out. At the end of the day folks, just know we are putting in incredible amounts of work and giving to the platform what many others are not capable of! Keep up the amazing work and let's take this initiative to heights far surpassing anything that anyone else may be doing ;)

Food for thought by the way. The "bigger" fish are always the ones who get eaten, stuffed and mounted on the mantle piece first ;) I can't think of a fisherman who goes for the small ones LOL.

Haha, that is so true. I've never seen a baby fish not get thrown back into the water, I have seen the big one's get left out though. It just saddens me for all of the other writers who were tagged in this post to maybe have to read this comment. We push so hard to spread motivation and this comment was completely unmotivational. For what? I don't even know because it was an easy fix. Again, you can see who is trying to help the entire community and who is only trying help theirs.

Let people put themselves on a high pedestal. They fall harder than those beneath them. Honestly, let this be motivation to our writers, that their leader conducts himself like a community figure and leader, and keeps on keeping on. I have no interest in doing anything less. Let our writers read that we took this situation and turned it to gold, and let that serve as an example of what is yet to come in the guild! Let it motivate them to treat people respectfully and carry situations like an adult. It is more than motivational in my opinion, and serves as a great example for many things.

@greetersguild carries more morals and ethics than most, and that in itself should be motivational. We are here to serve a real purpose. Long live SGG!

I don't think @rhondak was saying that she owns those words, just that the two words together are already being used by an initiative that she helped to start and already have been branded by that group. It's a fairly well known discord and Steemit community, so you can see how it would cause confusion.
If I heard of a contest being sponsored by the Writer's Block, I would head over to their page.

You'll most likely lose a lot of people that way, in my opinion. Most people would automatically (and unintentionally) be directed to their pages and their community.

It just seems like it would be less confusion to have a separate name so that you could brand your initiative as something that would be easily identifiable.

@dreemsteem, it's not an issue and I completely understand. I was giving her a hard time because the approach was in my opinion rude, as were some of the statements. But, all is well, fixing it now.

Got it! I wish you success on your initiative! Steemit is big enough for help to be spread all around by multiple communities! :) I'm sure it frustrating to change the name after the post has already been published, but it will probably save a lot of confusion in the future (and headaches for newbies)!

@dreemsteem you are absolutely right, it will help avoid any forms of confusion. I had no intention of keeping the name once I had found out it was in use and have been working on it since I had heard from Shadow regarding the issue. Unfortunately, these things take time, so I wasn't able to accommodate the group as quickly as they would have liked. Either way, stuff happens, no big deal. Life goes on, and at the end of the day, I'm still here to help build the community, whether it be newbies, or helping someone such as TWB defend their title per se. My apologies for the mix up.

No need at all to apologize to me! mix up averted! Life does indeed go on! Have a great one 🙂
