Well ladies and gentlemen, one of the most exciting moments in the history of the Steemit Greeters Guild has finally arrived and we finally are able to move forward with our newest initiative, "The Writer's Guild", as of today. After many, many hours (days) of preparation and planning, this project is officially ready to launch, showing the Steemit community what the guild is truly made of. We have had several talented writers step forward to work this project, and we have a solid structure in line for everyone, described below in this article. I personally want to thank everyone for not only their patience, but for contributing to the long term success of the guild, including every official member within our ranks. Today is a beautiful day folks. Let's go ahead and unveil this milestone for @greetersguild shall we?!

divders6.png

WHAT IS THE WRITER'S GUILD INITIATIVE?

Quite simply put, "The Writer's Guild" initiative is a new implementation to the @greetersguild that promotes positive growth within the guild and outside of the guild, namely in the areas where new Steemit users (newbies) tend to struggle with personal and professional growth. The founder of The Steemit Greeters Guild, @terminallyill, thought long and hard for a means of producing quality content within the guild, all while giving our writers a change to grow and spread their wings. It wasn't long before it dawned on him that the best way to do so, would be to assemble a team of talented writers to take on such a task, and provide them the direction they need to carry such a project in full force across the platform. This is where "The Writer's Guild" was born.

Aside from being a clever new implementation, "The Writer's Guild" is a great opportunity for guild members to be promoted to a higher tier for their contributions, a great way for guild members to receive additional rewards for their contributions through becoming beneficiaries as the authors of material in this initiative and it is an excellent way for upcoming members to really spread their wings and grow in ways one may not have been able to prior to engaging with this project. From it's conceptualization to our official launch today, the vision has remained clear and the mission is simple. Provide some of the best quality material on the Steemit platform all while supporting the growth of the community and the guild.

When we say quality content, we mean content with some backbone and some structure, that serves a greater purpose in the community, NOT JUST THE DAILY POSTING OF GARBAGE MEMES OR ONE LINERS EVERY SINGLE DAY with the selfish intention of ABUSING THE REWARDS POOL. What we mean is that we are looking to promote quality content that is a positive contributor to the growth of the platform and the people in it. Any and all content promoted and pushed through this guild will be of the utmost quality, day in and day out, contributing to the greater good of everyone involved. We thrive off of seeing this platform grow, and growth is promoted with REAL QUALITY MATERIAL as well as personal growth.

This is just the beginning and the sky is the limit in terms of growth potential. So, that about sums it up. At The Steemit Greeters Guild, we don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk! With that being said, below are the articles that are on our launch schedule, including each person assigned to each one. Also included in this article is the basic structure of "The Writer's Block", shedding some light on how this amazing implementation is going to work in terms of putting us all off on a better foot forward. Read along my friends!

THE SGG CURATION SPOTLIGHT

Much like the above mentioned series of articles, The SGG Curation Spotlight is also another daily publication presented by the guild. The purpose of this article is to list a minimum of 3 (ideally we will list 5) quality articles from new users with a reputation score of under 40. Currently, we will utilize functions and roles of our current group structure (Scouts) to provide some aid in doing these articles, but these are an absolute must for us to assemble out Curation Crew (the next implementation) and properly begin to curate the lower ranks of the platform.

SUNDAY EXCLUSIVE - SUNDAY RESTEEM INITIATIVE

This is the final exclusive weekly publication up for grabs and is a co-op between SGG and our sister group @newbieresteemday. On this day, the group as a whole first and foremost should dedicate to resteeming other user's material that deserve some further pub and spotlight, namely new users. IF every single member of SGG were to resteem at least 5 articles, we could easily surpass 100 resteems in this single day, so let's go ahead and aim for a minimal of 5 per person on Sundays. Aim for quality new user content and guild member content ;) Now, the article itself will contain 10 resteemed articles and will be produced to draw extra traffic to those articles. Make sure that these articles are the best of the best that we are resteeming, or the most deserving. We want to try to limit these to new users, however there can be certain exceptions.

HOW IS THIS INITIATIVE STRUCTURED?

This is likely the easiest portion of the entire ordeal. First and foremost, to understand the inner workings of the initiative, one must understand that this initiative is in place to promote growth across the platform in many areas, including the production of high quality content. To start off, @terminallyill has worked hard to design templates for ease of production of these articles, which will prove to be a blessing for all involved. Along with help from the amazing @ntowl, these templates will be solidified and secured as the go to source for our writers to have a building block to work from. Each writer who applies for a position and is promoted to a "Guild Writer" will be added to a higher tier (Tier 3) of membership, which contains exclusive rewards, automatic upvotes from the guild (which is sitting at 4500SP currently) and much more for their efforts. These writers will be assigned certain tasks/writings to which they then produce to the best of their abilities. That's not it. Keep on reading!

After the writers have completed their writing tasks, they will then coordinate with @ntowl in a private room on our SGG discord server that is in place for reviewing of the material prior to posting on the SGG blog. Once @ntowl (or @terminallyill if she is not available) have cleared them for production and made any necessary changes, if at all needed, they will then be posted to the @greetersguild page. Each author has rights to promote their own brand through footers and visual material, as well as use designated areas in the templates to link their Steemit user names. With everyone on board, @greetersguild is looking at producing a minimum of 3 publications per day. This number will grow, as ALL members of the guild are welcomed to make suggestions regarding new material and such for the benefit of everyone involved.

From the rewards on these said posts, our authors and management, as well as the guild, will see monetary gain and such from these writings. After payout to the guild, SBD will be divided out as such. 15% will be paid to the management overseeing the posts (@ntowl for the most part unless there is relief), 25% will go directly to the writers and 60% will go directly into the @greetersguild communal fund, a fund set aside to lease SP for members as well as the guild, making the self supporting upvote system we use more profitable for all official members and enabling more rapid growth patterns inside of the ranks of the guild. Please note, as these publications become more consistent and the popularity of them climb, increasing the payouts, the percentages will gradually rise in the favor of our writers and management. For now, our success as a group is the main goal and it is our duty as a guild to work together to see this happen. So, let us make this initiative grow exponentially. The more fruit it can bear, the better we all can eat as a family!

divders6.png

HOW CAN YOU JOIN OR SUPPORT THIS INITIATIVE?

Interested in joining in or supporting our newest launch? Speak to one of our leaders today and share your thoughts. We are always looking for new ideas for publications/articles and talented new writers to join us and help grow this amazing project. We also have a need for consistent support from upvotes and resteems in the community, as the material produced by @greetersguild is going to be solely to help build other members of the Steemit community. As always, your moral support, spreading the word about the SGG and generally helping us accomplish our missions, are all priceless in my opinion. All help and support is appreciated, greatly, and a very special thank you goes out to all of our writers and guild members who have made this project a success before it has even left the ground! You guys and gals ROCK!

Actually, The Writers' Block launched back in August of last year and has enjoyed steady growth since. The name is in use on Steemit. It is also the name of at least one other Discord group. I'm the co-admin of The Writers' Block and am concerned about the amount of confusion this is going to cause. We strongly suggest you rename this project, whether it's an internal initiative or not.

This is the name of an initiative/project within my group and located in the confines of my discord. This is not a group, not will it be pushed out here as such, so I am not sure how much actual confusion it would cause considering it is branded as an initiative under the Steemit Greeters Guild flag. I have spoken to Shadows Pub regarding the issue and he assured me he would clarify, being he is the one who brought it to my attention in the first place.

As far as confusion goes, it is solely the name of this project and an area within my group's Discord. I am not branding the project as a group, as its own Discord, or even as its own account on Steemit. I very seriously doubt there will be ANY confusion. To be honest, I had no idea there was even a group under the name. It wasn't as if I deliberately set out to take down your group and steal your glory. It is the name of a project.

However, if you guys cannot get past the concept and fact of it being within my group, and not "in your way", I will slightly adjust the name to accommodate you. I will modify to The Writers Guild. No confusion, no relation, name says it all. I hope that will suffice @rhondak.

Wow, I love this name change actually! The Writers Guild sounds so much better than The Writers Block anyway plus it flows much better than the first name. I'm not sure what all the hype is considering this just launched and SGG had no idea about a writers block but such is life on Steemit. Glad to see it being handled in such a great manner because it certainly is an easy fix with no harm done.

Hell yea @magicalmoonlight, it sure sheds some light to our "professionalism", or lack thereof to some LOL. I am happy with this name actually. Writers Block would have been kind of dumb for what we are trying to promote if you really think about it, considering writers block itself is a testament to not being able to come up with content. So, let us build off this, which proved to be a blessing actually ;)

I am impressed by your diplomacy and objectivity. Good work.

It is not confined within your group if it appears on Steemit, and it very much appears on Steemit in this post. We ask politely and well within reason that you amend the name so that it in no way reflects on our initiative. We are well-branded all over Steemit with an active tag.

Shadowspub, who is a "she," by the way, is the one who called this to my attention. You're not getting off on the right foot here, friend. I would encourage you to learn a tiny bit more about our group before you decide to appropriate our name.

@rhondak, at any rate, I do apologize for the inconvenience and the misunderstanding. Changing the artwork up now, so it will take a little bit. Please be patient.

I appreciate your responsiveness to this issue, and so do other members of The Writers' Block.

No problem. It would be appreciated if your group would simmer down on something I worked incredibly hard to get off the ground. Namely, you. An edit of some of the arrogant comments would be nice, as I am being a decent human being and accommodating you entirely.

@rhondak changing it as we speak....meant no harm. Your arrogance however, is a bit unsettling for someone in a leadership position. Especially when the issue is actively being resolved. It would be nice to not have to deal with this, you could have after all, been an adult and messaged me on Discord and it could have been handled without you and your friends jumping in to destroy something I worked hard to create. A resolution could have long been accomplished without such action, and honestly, all you have truly accomplished is make yourselves look ridiculous, considering the situation was being resolved from the moment it had become a situation.

You are being facetious, and it isn't a good look. For starters, we don't believe you had no knowledge of The Writers' Block. If that is the case, I'm not sure you're in touch enough with the Steemit community at large to be heading up a project like this. If you persist in using the name in one incarnation or another, I think you will find it to be more hassle for you than it's worth. Not from us, but from people who land on your doorstep under false pretenses, and don't find the professional community they were looking for.

Yes, I get it OK, I honestly do, and have been working on changing it since you commented. there is really no need to continue this, on my hard work, being this post I wrote that took me a nice piece of time. It's being resolved, so please let it be resolved. I don't need a group of people on here, first and foremost saying I or my people are unprofessional, or any of the comments on here. Please, edit the arrogant remarks and insulting ones and keep it moving. You honestly aren't making a good look for your group either, bombarding OUR material and upvoting these ridiculous comments to be at the very top. Not a good look at all, especially considering it has been in the process of resolution since the issue was even presented.

Wow...you can clearly see who actually cares about other people. What a completely uncalled for comment on something that someone worked endless hours on. I would never say something like this on someone else's post when I can clearly see that they are trying to help the community, even if they had the same name. This just launched, it has caused no harm at all and was easily fixed. This right here proves my point as to why I push so hard to work with @greetersguild and helping new users instead of chasing all of the "bigger" fish.

@magicalmoonlight, we all know that not every self proclaimed leader on this platform has the ability, respect, attitude or compassion to speak to people in a proper manner or conduct things in an absolutely positive way. Unfortunately, to some people, ignorance is bliss and they dwell on being on a pedestal above other people. So let them say what they chose, it only makes them look bad and deter people from associating with them. We have the ability to turn the ignorance into diamonds, simply by turning the other cheek and continuing to work hard for each other. Either way, we coined a better name, our initiative is solid, our initiative will give anyone a run for their money and we will continue on with our purpose, which is something honorable, regardless if people view us as unprofessional or whatever their opinion may be. We have a group with an actual purpose as we have proven and we work harder for this platform than any group in existence, so I'm happy with that at the end of the day :)

Long live @greetersguild and the amazing ladies and gentlemen within this guild that are changing lives for the better on a daily basis. WE are the future of the Steemit platform and WE are the ones preserving it's integrity and growth on a positive level, day in and day out. At the end of the day folks, just know we are putting in incredible amounts of work and giving to the platform what many others are not capable of! Keep up the amazing work and let's take this initiative to heights far surpassing anything that anyone else may be doing ;)

Food for thought by the way. The "bigger" fish are always the ones who get eaten, stuffed and mounted on the mantle piece first ;) I can't think of a fisherman who goes for the small ones LOL.

I don't think @rhondak was saying that she owns those words, just that the two words together are already being used by an initiative that she helped to start and already have been branded by that group. It's a fairly well known discord and Steemit community, so you can see how it would cause confusion.
If I heard of a contest being sponsored by the Writer's Block, I would head over to their page.

You'll most likely lose a lot of people that way, in my opinion. Most people would automatically (and unintentionally) be directed to their pages and their community.

It just seems like it would be less confusion to have a separate name so that you could brand your initiative as something that would be easily identifiable.

@dreemsteem, it's not an issue and I completely understand. I was giving her a hard time because the approach was in my opinion rude, as were some of the statements. But, all is well, fixing it now.

Got it! I wish you success on your initiative! Steemit is big enough for help to be spread all around by multiple communities! :) I'm sure it frustrating to change the name after the post has already been published, but it will probably save a lot of confusion in the future (and headaches for newbies)!

I said I would pass on what you told me about how the name came about and that you said you didn't know a TWB existed before you used the name.

aka ShadowsPub

I had no idea the name was in use, and I appreciate you reaching out @pathtosuccess. I'm working on it now, to accommodate these people.

You definitely need to change the name as this is already being used and will cause mass confusion and possibly resentment. @thewritersblock is a well established community on Steemit and Discord already. Great initiative and something I'd like to know more about though.

@enginewitty, already doing that. I don't rightly need a bunch of guys saying the same thing, I get what the issue is and I have been working on resolving it. I'm not trying to commandeer anyone's group or do anything damaging. Working on a resolution as we speak.

You seem to have a understanding that you are hard done by to have to change that name at least that is what I pick up on your last reply. But yet @rhondak and @gmuxx have worked extemely hard to build that reputation, I read your comments and you seem to think that other people are making this a big deal, their not and to be frank a little apology to them would not go a miss, connecting with them on a friendly basis and seeing what they have done and what you both could do in the future, would be and could be amazing for all writers.

@crazybgadventure, I'm not making a stink about it, I'm in the process of changing. I understand their concerns. It was just the approach, which was rather blunt and arrogant, that rubbed me and some others wrong. But to each their own. It was a misunderstanding, we can all move on. I plan on an apology once the situation is resolved, but there is no need until it has reached complete resolution. I'm not the type to take from others, or be confrontational for no reason. I understand their gripe, and am working on resolving it, as any decent person in a leadership position would do. Thanks for your concern and input, I'm glad to resolve the issue.

@greetersguild, I feel for you, it's difficult to fix the problem if your energy and time are being drained by tending to comments that are repeating the same arguments.

I am not associated with either group; I understand the facts in the overstated list of grievances. Some things may be fixed, but broken ties are sometimes a blessing in disguise, a gift instead of a curse.

I doubt that either group will suffer significantly, this exchange of words has been a great teaching piece for me, and probably many others. Your transparency is appreciated.

Thanks buddy. Perhaps since you are already using the Greeter's Guild, you can go with something in that fashion, Like The Writer's Guild maybe. Though I would check to see about that too.

Or hey maybe The Greeter's Guild Swords? Because, you know, the pen is mightier than the sword ;) Lotta different ways to go with it.

LOL I actually like that. Would likely confuse the Hell out of someone though. Working on a new one, likely just go with Writer's Guild, which seems to be available.

Great work! @ntowl is awsome! Bump her to 25% so your total =100% at 90% now 😉
Also i agree about the dmania memes at $50+ for garbage but there are quality memes out there and some sell a single meme for $30,000, steemit encompasses all forms of content and I am not advocating to promote them.

@dynamiccrypto, she certainly is awesome. I am happy to have her on board and give her a place for her teachings as well, being that situation erupted. The memes I can't really get down with, I honestly feel memes are meant for Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms and that 99% of them destroy the integrity of the Steemit platform. Especially those who solely post memes and barely produce any quality material that the platform is really about. To each their own, it's just not my cup of tea nor anything I allow my people to support. I'd rather not cop out and dumb myself down. But like I said, whatever floats someone's boat.

How has life been treating you man? Hope all has been well, and namely productive for you!

Doing good thanks for asking, about to board a plane for thailand for a few days then back to the philippines until june. And it's cool not to support the memes but i just felt i had to stick up for them as i enjoy making memes from time to time and by no means rape the reward pool $2-3 dollars a clever meme. By just supporting writing we are cutting off not only meme makers but photographers, videographers, streamers, gamers and a lot of other content that could help steemits value go so much higher than if it was just a place for writing. It was built as a censorship free news source turned social media, if we put down the 350,000,000+ that are not striving to become writers are we not limiting our platforms potential and slowing growth? I guess my point is stay positive and support writers if thats your deal but calling others content garbage is counter productive.😉

@dynamiccrypto, you misread what I was going for and saying my friend. I do not knock photographers for quality photography, nor knock vloggers for a vlog. I am against supporting those who post 90% memes to take advantage of the rewards pool. I feel your point of view, but that was a bit of a far reach to lump streamers, vloggers and such in with memes lol. Posting a meme once in a while is cool, whatever, but there are people dropping memes all day, everyday, not contributing to the success of the platform as a whole because of their inability to do so. Either way, agree to disagree i suppose. Hope all is well, good luck with your group!

I own no group just support those that help steemit retention, growth, minnows and good content 😉 just moved a curation account onto steemrepo and upvoting the steem-rural guys think i offered you an account but with 4,500sp from neoxian your ahead of the game and my little .02 accounts upvote! I agree with you 100% just misunderstood

Oh dang man I thought you had that one thing going? We need to catch up some LOL

This is going to be one of the most important articles the guild produces

Oh boy, no pressure there! Look forward to the challenge of producing the "Wednesday Exclusive".

LOL @thedarkhorse you almost made me spit my coffee out :D

You will rock out, that is why you were the one in charge of it. Especially with the templates and such, you'll do fine. I have complete confidence that you will brand this article into something incredible! Thank you for stepping up on the team!!!

Sure and you have high expectations...Feeling the pressure of a top draft pick, so much easier when you are drafted low and then overproduce as nobody expected anything out of you anyways.

Happy to step up and be part of such a great group of people!

good job my friend.
steemon92409-88677.jpg

Thank you @herryazmi11, it is always a pleasure to have your support my friend!

Just send me the info and we can do this :)

Will do @slobberchops, we've got this!

This is Awesome, i am so glad to be part of it. Thumbs up @greetersguild :)

@gracefavour, it is always a pleasure to have you involved with anything that we do. As one of our Day One members, it is with great pride that I had taken you into a position writing and displaying the entirety of your talents. Thank you, seriously, for all that you do!

Very awesome! So happy to be a part of this wonderful initiative! Keep up the great work guys... looking forward to reading!

@smylie2005 :) You are another great member of the guild and one of our Day One members. Thank you for sticking it out when we were just 10 members strong, and for continuing to bless the platform with your compassion and kindness! Your support is always appreciated, more than you know!

@greetersguild very exciting times with this new initiative happening here! Looking forward to see future posts here! Cool to be here! Upvoted to support. Cheers~

@miss.kat, thank you for supporting this project :) It is an absolute pleasure to have you on board!

All good @terminallyill. I can see how hardworking you have been in making this happen, and this is truly hardwork and sweat you are doing here. I can appreciate that and happy to support. Stay in touch, and always happy to chat with you and hear feedback about my posts! I am passionate about art and photography and always welcome hearing from others how I can improve my skillsets :)

Sounds like you guys have really planned this well. I currently have several discords that I am a member of but maybe use 30-60% of their channels. Some I may only use for one time a week. Your program sounds like you have taken all of the best initiatives from other discord’s and created a super discord channel.
Well done guy’s you have really made it your own.

I look forward to joining and creating good content. The contest’s are always a great thing so I’m glad you have incorporated them. Resteem days are very valuable to newbies. Not only will the post be seen by a bigger audience but I believe it gives people more drive to create more.

Once you get running and iron out any teething issues you may have and I get a good idea of the structure, I will be happy to do a review post and set up invites to the discord.

Well done guys. You are the exact example of great steemit users.

@father2b, thank you for the support and kind words my friend! My goal with SGG is simply to offer up the most effective and efficient means to promote positive growth and solidarity on the platform. So far, so good :) Whether it be self sufficiency through guild upvotes, resteems, or any initiative, the end goal will always be the same. If you have any contributions you would like to add to these articles, you are more than welcomed. I am also uo for any ideas you may have, if you feel in an innovative mood at some point and want to see something positive in action.

I will be working diligently over the next few days to organize the Discord server as well as the group in its entirety. I cannot wait to be able to let you know so you can do a review for us! Thank you so much for your support my friend!!!

Now I understand why you stopped messaging..When you do something no doubt you do it great @terminallyill! Welcome to this awesome project, whose efficient organisation I find astounding.. maybe the more organised of all the project launches I saw so far. Now the challenge is to engage/channel all this great energies and focus them in the long run.. I'm sure we'll succeed all together! Tip!

Thank you my brother @f3nix, though I do apologize for being sporadic at best in conversation while getting this together and then resolving the turf war that erupted earlier LOL. It is great to have you in full support as well as holding the reigns with me on this project :) We have build more than a group my friend, we have established a family and an empire. Long live SGG!

No need for apologies bro, I don't know where you find all these energies! I will always support you, it's not easy to find in the same person compassion, empathy, values and leadership. The SGG is already a power of nature, we just need all to be aware, focus the energies and do everyone, me first, a little more. Cheers to us!

This is amazing, and I have already spotted a couple of my favourite writers on here, @tryskele and @terminallyill - It’s really wonderful what you have created for the community, I’m looking forward to all the posts! Great job guys 👏🏽👊🏼💗

@dramamama, first let me thank you for the kind words, it is an honor to be considered a favorite author :) I am excited to have launched this initiative and have the ability to see it bear amazing fruit. Thank you for your support and for most of all, for your motivation you posted in this comment that our writers will be reading :)

Amazing project u have there. Thank you for your efforts towards ensuring that steemit platform grows, most importantly by ensuring that we grow as well. ♡

@ibile thank you my friend! It is my duty to see others prosper on this platform. Selfishness is a thing of the past. Selflessness is the key to self enrichment. Thank you for supporting the initiative and the guild!

I just want to tell you @greetersguild that I'm really excited about your project "The Writer's Guild". I am new to SSG, and I'm not always online, but seeing that @ntowl is going to be part of your team has made me even more thrilled. I love her and I have learned a lot from her. So, I may always pop in to say hello to and catch up with whoever's online , and hopefully will be able to participate more frequently.

We gave you a vote and hopefully some more SGG members can head over to give a vote!

Thanks guys. I will appreciate that.

you guys are doing an amazing job @greetersguild !! So happy to see the launch getting so much attention (the good and the bad LOL - oh well! we all make mistakes sometimes)

BTW if I haven't thanked you all enough for all your awesome help with @newbieresteemday - let me thank you again. Love that collab image of the two groups for Sundays too!

Wow, I'm really impressed with the strides Greeters Guild has made. I'm not the most active member, but you all have my support, 100 percent! Sometimes I get a bit antisocial, but I am doing my best to combat my bi polar issues.

I'm a bit bothered by the approach regarding your unaware misname, and I mean no disrespect towards anyone in saying so, but writers are very aware of the context of their wording, using words like "actually," and "strongly", IMO implies an underlying threat. I've known the members of the Greeters Guild long enough to know, no glory is trying to be stolen here. It was certainly an honest mistake.

Self upvoting the comment so that everyone would get a sour taste in their mouth about the Greeters Guild actually had the reverse effect on myself. I'm only speaking for me of course, but those upvotes could have gone towards supporting this initiative, and instead of a "back off" approach, maybe a collaborative approach would have been more beneficial to all the writers on Steemit, collectively speaking.

Irregardless, I understand why @terminallyill felt the way he did, because I certainly felt there was an ostentatious nature to the demand for correction.

In stating this, I will say that I am a member of both the Greeters Guild, and The Writers Block. I think both of the communities bring a massive amount of value to Steemit. That's my two cents, and I mean no disrespect to anyone. Thank you.
